Dr. Aggie Huang

 

Dr. Aggie Huang is the Associate Director of the Chinese Program at Shanghai American School (Pudong campus). Prior to this position, she was an MYP coordinator in an international school abroad. Her involvement within the IB Educator Network (IBEN) has been extensive, encompassing roles such as MYP examiner, MYP/PYP workshop leader, school visit team leader, program leader, program field representative, and consultant. Her new passion is to inspire educators to create inclusive and culturally sensitive learning environments, ensuring that every student feels valued and supported.

Ying Jin 

2018 ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year  

 

Ms. Ying Jin has more 20 years Chinese language and culture teaching experience in diverse settings, including middle schools, high schools, and colleges in both the U.S. and China. Ms. Jin was 2018 ACTFL National Language Teacher of the Year. She served as the President of CLASS (Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools) in 2019 and has been serving on CLASS board since 2015. She currently serves on ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) board, and teaching Mandarin Chinese at the Fremont Union High School District in Cupertino, California.

Ms. Zhang Xue Qing | 张学青 

 

张学青,苏州大学附属吴江学校副校长,苏州大学基础教育研究院儿童阅读教育研究所所长,江苏省语文特级教师,整本书阅读倡导者、实践者,《人民教育》《基础教育课程》《小学语文教师》分别以专题、专刊的形式对她的教育成果进行推广报道。出版专著《张学青讲语文》《给孩子上文学课》,编著《小学生沈从文读本》《小学生散文读本》等学生读物。 

Ms. Zhang Xue Qing is the Vice Principal of Wujiang School Affiliated to Soochow University. She is also the Director of the Children's Reading Research Institute, Primary Education Research Institute of Soochow University. She is a literacy specialist and a well-known literacy instruction professional book author in China. 

Ms. Jessica Shan 

单老师,北京顺义国际学校EY-12中文教学教练及课程协调员。毕业于新加坡国立大学,荣获心理学与中文学士学位,教育学与中国语言文学硕士学位,并于2022年取得哈佛大学教育领导力证书。曾在新加坡及台湾的高中与大学任职,教授中文第一和第二语言及剑桥A水准与IBDP中文课程并担任考官。热爱中国语言与文化,致力于在国际教育环境中为学生创造中西融合的学习体验,同时也著力于中文课程研发及教师培训,为国际学校中文教师的专业发展赋能。 

EY-12 Chinese Curriculum Coordinator and Instructional Coach at International School of Beijing. Jessica holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from National University of Singapore (NUS) and further augmented her qualifications with the Certificate of School Management and Leadership (CSML) from Harvard University. Having worked in Singapore and Taiwan prior to joining ISB in 2011, Jessica has taught Chinese language and literature courses across various proficiency levels and serves as A-Level and IBDP examiner. She is an innovative and organized life-long learner who skilled in culturally responsive instruction and curriculum development, as well as linguistics, intercultural communication, and translation. She also brings a wealth of experience, spirit, and commitment to ISB’s coaching program, and is dedicated to providing best quality educational experiences for all members of the learning community.  

Dr. Miao-fen Tseng | 曾妙芬 教授 

 Inaugural Director of the Institute of World Languages & Professor of Chinese 

University of Virginia, USA 

美国弗吉尼亚大学世界外语中心创办主任暨教授 

Professor Tseng has served on numerous national and international committees and played multi-faceted influential roles in advocating Chinese language initiatives, including Director of UVA STARTALK Teacher/Student Academy, Founder and President of the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Virginia (CLTA-VA), member of the CLTA Board of Directors, member of STARTALK Task Force, College Board consultant in AP Chinese, Academic Advisor and Senior Reviewer for AP Chinese Audit, and Evaluator of K-16 Chinese language programs and teacher preparation programs. She has received many accolades in recognition of her contribution to Chinese language education and has published near 30 peer-reviewed articles and twelve professional books in Chinese instruction. 

Ms. YinNan Zhang

YinNan has been teaching at international schools both in and outside of China for 15 years. She is an IB MYP      Bi-lingual Workshop leader and holds the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leaders awarded by University College London. YinNan is passionate about curriculum and assessment design. She embraces concept-based and inquiry-based teaching and learning.  

Ms. Qian Qian | 錢倩

Ms. Qian Qian has nearly twenty years of experience in teaching Chinese as a second language and near-native-level Chinese, and a member of CIS AI committee. She has presented in numerous conferences about AI's impact on education. 

 

Dr. Ying Chu

Head of Dual Language

International School of Beijing

Dr. Ying Chu is the Head of the Dual Language Program at the International School of Beijing. A seasoned research practitioner and innovative educational program leader, Dr. Chu specializes in asset-based bilingual program implementation and evaluation, along with expertise in culturally and linguistically responsive practices. She holds a Master of Arts from Teachers College, Columbia University, and earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California. With over a decade of experience in instruction, research, and leadership roles at reputable international schools in the region and renowned institutions in New York City, Dr. Chu is dedicated to exploring and expanding thinking, blending theory with practice, and fostering a culture of transformational change and continuous improvement in international schools.
